In this article, we will guide you through the steps to making changes to your financial predictions in Venturekit.

Within the Financial section of your business plan, you will find the following reports:

  • Revenue

  • Expenses

  • Financing

  • Dividends

  • Taxes

  • Profit & Loss

  • Balance Sheet

  • Cash Flow

  • Funding Plan

The points of data that you can manually update will all be highlighted in green font and will appear under Revenue, Expenses, Financing, Dividends and Taxes.

Let's take a closer look at modifying the information under these particular sections.

Revenue

The AI will generate your initial report with revenue streams that are relevant to your business structure. For example, if you offer business consulting services, some possible revenue streams could be things like Consulting Fees, Monthly Retainer Services, Workshops & Training etc.

You can add any revenue stream that you need, by clicking on the + Add Revenue Stream button.

Once you have clicked on +Add Revenue Stream, a menu will open that allows you to enter in the name of your revenue stream, a description, the type of revenue, as well as month and year fields to specify when you will start offering this service.

You can also client on the Generate ideas button to get suggestions from the AI.

The types of revenue steams that you can add to your business plan are Unit Sales, Billable Hours, Recurring Charges or a non descript Revenue Only amount.

If you need to delete a category, you simply need to click on the three vertical dots to the right of the name for that category, then select Delete.

Adding or deleting categories under Expenses, Financing, Dividends and Taxes are all done in the same way as for Revenue.

Changing Individual Values

In order to change those initial values, you can click on the category you wish to modify., or you can click on the three vertical dots next to the category and select Edit.

For this example, we will use Consulting Services.

When you open the Consulting Services category, a new window will appear on the right side of the screen. In this window you will find the relevant fields that are open for edit, for the selected category.

You can change the name of the category as well as it's description, the dollar amount, the number of hours attributed per month to this category as well as the anticipated growth rate.

You can also change the month and year when you expect that this category will begin operating.

All the projected amounts in your financial tables will automatically calculate and update based on the values that you enter for the first month of your business. Values for subsequent months and years cannot be individually edited.

Conclusion

In conclusion, making changes to your financial data is a simple process. By following these steps, you can easily update your financial information and ensure the accuracy of your financial calculations. Regularly reviewing and updating your financial data is crucial for the success and growth of your business, so be sure to make it a priority.
