In this article, we will guide you through the steps to making changes to the categories that are listed in your Financial reports. Specifically, we are going to be looking at:

  • Revenue

  • Expenses

  • Financing

  • Dividends

  • Taxes

On these pages, fields displayed in green font indicate editable categories. You can modify existing categories, add new ones, or delete those you no longer need.

Adding or deleting categories under Revenue, Expenses, Financing, and Dividends are all done in the same way. The categories under Taxes cannot be changed, but their amounts can be.

For the purposes of this tutorial, we are going to be working with examples from the Revenue page.

Now, let's take a closer look at how to modify this information in order to customize your reports.

Revenue

The AI will generate your initial report with revenue streams that are relevant to your business structure. For example, if you offer business consulting services, some possible revenue streams could be things like Consulting Fees, Monthly Retainer Services, Workshops & Training etc.

Once you have clicked on +Add Revenue Stream, a menu will open that allows you to enter in the name of your revenue stream, a description, the type of revenue, as well as month and year fields to specify when you will start offering this service.

You can also click on the Generate ideas button to get suggestions from the AI.

Types of Revenue:

The types of revenue steams that you can add to your business plan are Unit Sales, Billable Hours, Recurring Charges, Revenue Only and a Varying Amounts Over Time.
